My Story
My journey into wellness began long before it became my career. Like many women, I've navigated the ups and downs of body image, health, and self-worth. Over the years, I have learned that true wellness isn't about perfection or quick fixes, but about developing a relationship to our bodies, allowing for consistency, understanding, and balance.

I grew up as a competitive dancer, which I absolutely loved however, it also made my hyper-aware of how my body looked and it's imperfections. This naturally led to a career in personal training and massage therapy with an interest in bodybuilding. While I was passionate about helping others and learning all I could about the body and exercise, it grew into an unhealthy pattern of behaviour. I was in a constant state of deprivation, eating as little as I could and ashamed when I would inevitably binge on all of the foods I wasn't allowing myself. My nervous system was on overdrive as I was always pushing myself too hard, relying on caffeine to keep me going. I was also completely disconnected from my body, unable to hear its messages and treating it like a drill sergeant. Eventually, but not surprisingly, I hit a rock bottom in 2017 when I was 15 weeks into a bikini competition prep and became severely depressed. I had no other choice but to make a change.

I became curious about why my relationship with my body had become to disconnected and how I could rebuild it in a healthier way. This led me to counselling and alternative forms of therapy, such as breathwork, hypnosis, shamanic ceremonies, and women's healing circles. After 3-4 years of intensive commitment to learning, and unlearning, I began understanding how true wellness considers the mind, body, emotions, and environment as interconnected systems rather than separate pieces. I also began learning I needed to build a relationship with my body and learn how to hear its messages, rather than enforcing my rules onto it.

As I learned to slow down and truly listen to my body, I felt myself shift from force to partnership. I received my diploma in holistic nutrition and health coaching, clinical hypnosis, and my bachelor's degree in psychology, which gave me a deeper appreciation for how our early experiences, beliefs, stress levels, hormones, and daily habits all shape how we feel. It also gave me an avenue to share what I had learned with my clients. Through this work I became passionate about supporting women in reconnecting with themselves, helping them build strength confidence, and nourishment without self-punishment. Listening to my body became a non-negotiable, and it's a value I do my best to carry into every aspect of my life and my practice.

In my personal life, I am happily married to a wonderful husband, I get to be a stepmom to three awesome kids, and I am constantly entertained by our two cats, Ray and Binx. My family reminds me that wellness isn't just about routines or habits, it's also about connection, joy, flexibility, support, and compromise. Looking forward, I am excited to continue expanding my work with women in the areas of body image and eating disorders as I begin my Master's of Counselling program in the fall of 2026.

Thank you for reading a part of my story. If you feel pulled to start your own wellness journey and feel a connection, I'd love for you to connect with me.
